My painting actually started here
I fell in love with young girl's beautiful Asian face.
I started out with a quick sketch,
--then went to work on the mixed media canvas.
I find painting, especially faces, is often like writing--
creating a first draft and the revising until I can see a personality.
That is what I did here, I kept revising --
In the process, a Spanish senorita appeared!
I love how she "evolved" through the creative process. Hope you do as well!

Jenelle, I love watching your process! Can so relate to you gessoeing out her eyes. I've been putting a whole new face on mine : ) Recently, I messed up my cowgirl's outfit, and just glued on a new one : ) This is what I love about mixed media! It is a joy to see your girls come to life! I actually love them all. The top sketch looks to me like the photograph!

Nancy,
Thanks so much for the encouraging words. I decided to share my process because my process is slow. Seems like art "evolves" and goes through many stages.
I love your cowgirls--and appreciate that they too evolve--
and the end result is absolutely lovely!
